It’s been an interesting journey so far at Hymnodia, lovers of Hymns and Hymnodia have been waiting with bated breath for the first performance of the Hymntestants at the Hymnsytitute. After a couple weeks of intense training and lessons from various tutors and virtuosos, the Hymntestants are finally ready to make their debut. For this performance, the 14 Hymntestants were grouped into duos. According to the dean of the Hymnstitute, this is to help them develop confidence and overcome stage fright. This pairing will also help bring them into being and develop the spirit of friendship and team work.
The pairing is as follows: Abiodun and Juliet, David and Rioja, Abigael and Olumide, Ayodeji and Jemine, Mobolanle and Blessing and the last but definitely not the least group, Uduakobong, Kenneth and Rachael. This last group raised eyebrows as they were a trio instead of the expected duo. It was explained that Jacob, the missing contestant had to go sit for his final medical examination, his absence however, would not excuse him from probation if the trio was up for it.
After a beautiful time listening to enthralling and superb music, the tension began to build as it was time to know which team performed best and better yet, which team was up for probation. After careful deliberations, David and Rioja were declared the best performances of the night, while the duos of Abiodun and Juliet, Ayodeji and Jemine and Mobolanle and Blessing were unfortunately put up for probation. Their only chance of remaining in the Hymnstitute being their ability to get the maximum number of votes required.
We wish them all the best.
There is never a dull moment at Hymnodia, and we can’t wait to see the surprises that would unfold in the next stanza.
