Hymnodia 11: Added Verses, Added Fun

Updates,

If there is a show that can keep you glued to your screen, it definitely is Hymnodia. So far, it has been nothing short of amazing. Ever since its kickoff with stanza one, 10 stanzas have gone now and it is sad to see the season approaching its end. At the beginning of stanza 11, the Hymnodia mass choir sang a beautiful hymn titled ‘Sweet, Sweet Jesus’ after which, the Hymntestants treated us to a special hymn in honour of all mothers. The charge d’affaires, also known as the presenter for the night was the Dean himself, Ben Ogbeiwi. It was a night of fun, drama, excitement and unexpected twists.

As usual, the the hymntestats on probation were put on stage– unfortunately Jemine and Uduak were the two with the lowest votes. It was the end of the journey for them. The theme for the stanza was “Hymns with added verses” which the dean called ‘Hymnomorphsis’, the Hymntestants were to add two verses to the hymns assigned to them. Before the show proper, Jemine and Uduak were given a chance to perform their hymns for the last time. Uduak performed ‘ Whispering Hope’ and Jemine sang ‘I Surrender’. The judges were Dupe Ige, Sunday Olawuwo and Onyeka Onwenu, with Seun Owoaje taking the place of Ben Ogbeiwi.

Rachael opened the show proper with a lovely performance of ‘God Will Take Care Of You’, followed by Mobolanle who performed ‘His Eye Is On The Sparrow’, Abigael came right after with ‘How Great Thou Art’, Olumide treated us to an outstanding performance of ‘The Old Rugged Cross’ and Kenneth closed the night with ‘Come Christians Join To Sing’. After a wonderful night of joy and great music, Olumide and Kenneth were declared the Hymntestants with the outstanding performances.

Stanza 10 was the final stanza before the grand finale, which would be holding on the 24th of April at the MUSON centre show hall. 10 stanzas and 9 Hymntestants gone. Who amongst the 5 Hymntestants would win the grand prize? The ASAPH award, a brand-new car and 5 million naira lies in wait for the winner. Rachael, Mobolanle, Olumide, Abigael and Kenneth’s fate lies in the hands of their fans and voters, they need all the votes they can get right now. It is Hymodia anything can happen!!!
